William P. "Bill" Gross, age 65, of Huron passed away Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. A memorial service for Bill was held at 7 PM, Monday, July 8th at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Military honors were conducted by the Huron Veterans Council.

William P. "Bill" Gross was born March 26, 1954, to Jake K. and Barbara (Stahl) Gross in Huron. He was raised on a farm north of Iroquois, where he attended school. He quit high school at the age of 17, a couple months before graduating to start work as a mechanic at Carlson's Northside Service. Bill served six years in the South Dakota Army National Guard HHC 153rd Engineer Battalion.

Bill married Lynnett Erickson on November 27, 1996, at Huron. He worked at Carlson's for 46 years until health issues forced him to retire.

Bill loved racing, fishing and hunting, especially pheasants. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR. He spent several years working on the pit crew for Jim Searing at local tracks.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gene and Dennis; one brother-in-law, Gene Rosenberger, mother-in-law, Shirley Erickson Reineke and her husband, Herman; step-daughter, Heather Skinner; sister-in-law, Lurean McKenna; and nephew, Brad Rosenberger

Bill is survived by his wife, Lynnett; step-sons, David Erickson and Gregory Skinner, Jr.; brother, Gordon and his wife, Mary Gross; sister, Barbara Rosenberger; sisters-in-law, Kaye Gross and Janet Gross; five step-grandchildren, Jorey Skinner, Erik Skinner, Jaiden Skinner, Jace Skinner and Journey Skinner; siblings-in-law, Lynn and Pat Weston, Andy Erickson, Peggy and Wesley Barnes, Larry and Wanda Erickson and Vernon and Norma Erickson; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
