Wendy Hilton, age 49, of Wolsey, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Wendy's family will celebrate her life at a later date.

Wendy was born August 25, 1973, to Dean and Irene (Schmidt) Piel, Sr., at North Platte, Nebraska. She graduated from high school and was accepted to a college for an art degree.

She was an outstanding mother, fiancé, nana/memaw and friend.

Wendy loved spending holidays, especially Christmas, with all of her family. She cherished every moment she could spend with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed helping her fiancé, Chad, on the farm and cuddling and taking walks with her farm cats and dogs. Wendy's pets were precious to her: her dogs, Sparkles, Sage and George and her indoor cats, Gemini, Tipsy and Zira. The many farm cats enjoyed the daily family walks to the mailbox.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, August and Mary Piel and one uncle, Fred Piel.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her fiancé, Chad Clouser of Wolsey; two daughters, Elaina and Skyler Lambert and Angel McKown, all of Huron; one son, David Schmidt of Nebraska; one brother, Rolland Piel, Jr. of Huron; five grandchildren, Logan Lambert, Izbella Lambert, Benjamin Lambert, Sebastian Lambert and Madie McKown; a special cousin, Ace Piel; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.
