Wayne Rissmann, age 72, of Huron, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, May 22, 2023.

A service to celebrate his life was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 8, at the Huron Christian Church with a visitation an hour prior. It was livestreamed through the church. Burial followed at Bonny Cemetery in Sanborn County (408 Ave.) at 2:00 p.m.

Wayne Kenneth Rissmann was born November 8, 1950, to Kenneth and Irene (Nehlich) Rissmann, at Ipswich, South Dakota. He was raised on the family farm near Ipswich. He graduated from Ipswich High School in 1969. After high school, Wayne attended National College of Business in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Wayne lived at Ipswich for a few years. He then moved to Huron where he worked as a welder at Telelect and later Terex, retiring after 24 years in 2013.

On July 27, 1996, Wayne married Nancy (Jennings) Muse at Huron Christian Church. He had a heart of a servant, enjoying helping others. He was very active in their church. Wayne also served on the board for Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years.

Wayne enjoyed fishing, lawn mowing, and socializing over a Coca-Cola or a meal.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Derek.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Nancy of Huron; his children, Aaron (Susan) Rissmann of Louisville, Kentucky, Jacob (Amy) Rissmann of Lake Park, Minnesota, Charlotte (Stephen) Richardson of Dallas, Oregon, Rebecca Rissmann of Aberdeen and Jesse Rissmann of Redfield; his step-children, Justin Muse of Huron and Stephanie Muse of Birmingham, Alabama; his grandchildren, Stella, Cullen, Sara, Jeramiah, Samantha and Jaylen; his brother, Curt (Kindra) Rissmann of East Helena, Montana; and one niece, Shandra Rissmann of Washington.
