Warren Baseler, age 93, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Avantara – Huron.

His memorial service was held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 17th, at the Mount Olivet Church. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Kuhler Funeral Home assisted the Baseler family with cremation.

Warren H. Baseler was born September 16, 1927, to Emil and Floy (Bacon) Baseler at Frankfort, South Dakota. He grew up in the Frankfort area, and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1945. He continued to work on the family farm.

In 1957, Warren started working as a meat cutter at Armour's and Company, and retired in 1983. He later worked for Huron Well Drilling for 18 years, retiring again in 2001.

On March 17, 1975, Warren married Velma "Mickey" Salmon Loban at Huron.

Warren enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mickey on December 12, 2011; one daughter, Ramona Baseler-Rehak; one grandson, Paul Spain; and one brother, Wayne (Myckie) Baseler.

Warren is survived by his children, Ron (Terry) Baseler of Omaha, Nebraska, Rose Bennett of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Patty (Scott) Cave of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his step-children, Jean (Butch) Spain of Huron, Kim Lane of Huron, Kelly Smith of Boone, Iowa and Lance (Cindy) Loban of Huron. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
