Obituary

Waldo W. Decker, age 88, of Nampa, Idaho and formerly of Huron, died Monday, February 22, 2016, at his home in Idaho.
A memorial service was held Monday, February 29th at 1:00 PM at the Central Valley Baptist Church at Meridian, Idaho.
A memorial service was held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 14th at 10:30 AM at Mt. Olivet Church. Private interment was in the Mt. Olivet Church Section of Ideal Cemetery in Huron.

Waldo W. Decker was born August 2, 1927, in Spink County (Hitchcock), South Dakota, to David P. and Anna (Tschetter) Decker. He went to country school for eight years and graduated from Doland High School in 1945.
Waldo married Violet Kleinsasser November 16, 1947, at Huron, South Dakota. They were married for 50 years until her home-going in 1998. After their marriage they farmed near Carpenter for seven years, and then moved to Huron. Waldo worked for Peavey Elevator in Huron for 18 years. In 1973, Waldo started working as a truck driver for Raymond Oil. He was employed there for the next 36 years, retiring in 2009. Waldo lived in Idaho for the past five years to be closer to his family.
Waldo is survived by three children, Waldo (Dianne) Decker Jr. of Greeley, Colorado, Karen (Ray) Dwyer of Denver, Colorado and Susette (Bob) Smith of Nampa, Idaho; two grandchildren, Kristin (Richard) Delp of Harleysville, Pennsylvania and Ryan (Krista) Dwyer of Denver, Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Allison Delp; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Violet on February 1, 1998; his parents; two brothers, Delbert and Arlan; and a sister, Rosie Walter. Waldo went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2016.
Waldo left this note with his hand written instructions: "Don't cry too long for me. I am with Jesus and my sweet heart, I love all of you. Dad"
