Virginia Brown, age 93, of Huron, died Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2 PM, Thursday, November 19th at Kuhler Funeral Home.
Virginia Grace Sabin was born July 18, 1922, to Wayne Ezra Sabin and Grace Elizabeth (Meeker) Sabin at Quincy, Illinois. Virginia grew up in Pinehurst, Washington and graduated from Everett High School in 1940.
She met Kenneth L. Brown, a marine from Island, Kentucky, in Washington D.C. and they were married May 6, 1945. They had three children, Kathryn Dale King of Bend, Oregon, Kenneth A. Brown of Huron, South Dakota, and Truman W. Brown of Sun River, Oregon.
Virginia liked picking wild blackberries, gardening, reading, cooking, and visiting family.
Kenneth and Virginia lived and worked on dairy farms in Arlington, Monroe, Snohomish and Fall City, Washington, until they retired and moved to Wessington Springs, South Dakota in 1989. Virginia had resided at SunQuest Health Care Center in Huron, South Dakota since 2001.
She is survived by her three children; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.Their names are Ammey, Khy, Kaine, Lilliana, Michelle, Kenny (Anita) King, Aria, Iris, Milo, David, Robert (Cassidy), Aubree, Kyleen, Lincoln, Sawyer, Angela, Zachari, Lexi, Xander, Nathan, and Daniel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth in 1991; her sister, Nina Eldridge; and her brother, Brewster Sabin.
