Vandean Stave, age 90 of Huron passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

Her memorial service will be held in Spring 2020. Burial was in the Webster City Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family of Vandean Stave, 1360 Dakota Ave. S, Huron, SD 57350. These funds will be used to purchase pet food for the local animal shelter.

Vandean Esther Loessin was born on April 20, 1929, to Otto and Mary (Eichler) Loessin at Hammer.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church at Claire City, South Dakota.  She grew up in the Roberts County area.

On November 24, 1949, Vandean married Jacob Stave. Following their marriage, they moved to Huron and lived here since. Vandean was employed at the Bales Continental Commission Company for many years.

Vandean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jacob on November 6, 1983; five brothers, Alberts, Alfred, Merle, John, and Harold Loessin. and four sisters, Clara Vig, Alice Kramer, Mildred Laing and Luella Larsen.

Grateful for having shared her life are her family, Don and Peggy Larsen of Beresford, Robert Borgan of Huron and his mother, Sharon Carlson of Oak Harbor, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
