Tillman D. Hofer, age 74, of Carpenter, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 15th at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are preferred and may be directed to the Carpenter United Methodist Church.
Tillman Daniel Hofer was born May 15, 1944, to Joe G. and Maggie (Glanzer) Hofer at Huron, South Dakota. His mother died during his birth. is father then married Sarah A. Tschetter. Several years later, Tillman's father passed away and Dave D.M. Tschetter became his step-father.
Tillman was raised in the Carpenter area.He farmed his entire life.
On June 20, 1964, Tillman married Barbara Williams at Willow Lake, until 1991. They had two children, David and Teresa.
Tillman enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, hunting and fishing. He loved to talk about his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Sarah A. Tschetter; step-father, Dave D.M. Tschetter; and one grandson, Jonathon.
Grateful for having shared in his life are one son, David Hofer of Carpenter; one daughter, Teresa and Mike Bemis of Minneapolis, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Derick and Cherri Hofer, Ashley and Nathan Jessen, Jaime and Sandra Walter, Shelby Bemis and Hunter Bemis; eight great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Kelsey, Westyn and Wyatt Hofer, Logan, Carson and Keegan Jessen and Ronnie Walter.
