Thelma Goodall, age 92, of Huron, was called to Heaven on Monday, September 18, 2023, while at Avantara – Huron.

Her funeral service was held at 1:00 PM, Monday, September 25, at Faith Alive Church. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. Her service was live-streamed.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Thelma Pauline Schuetzle was born September 11, 1931, in Plevna, Montana to John and Pauline (Christman) Schuetzle. She lived in Montana until the end of eighth grade, when she moved with her family to Hitchcock, South Dakota. She graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1949, and then attended business school in Mitchell.  She was then employed at Wilson Trucking, Northwestern Public Service Company and Sheldon F. Reese Elevators.

Thelma married Lloyd Goodall on February 17, 1952, at Hitchcock.  They made their home in Huron, where Thelma was a busy mom of three children, Jerry, Rodney and Cheryl, and was a volunteer.  She was an active member at First United Methodist Church since 1955, and held offices in United Methodist Women.  Thelma enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, cooking and baking, and growing flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Goodall on September 15, 2007; one son, Rodney Goodall on September 11, 2020; a sister and four brothers, Ruth Patrick and Clarence, Herbert, Vern and Donald Schuetzle.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Jerry Goodall of Sioux Falls and Cheryl Goodall of Sioux Falls; one daughter-in-law, Linda Goodall of Dahlonega, Georgia; two grandsons and four great-grandsons, Jared and Maria Goodall and their children, Paul Jackson "PJ" and Drew Rodney, and Matthew and Marlene Goodall and their children, Brayden Cole and Henry Louis; two sisters-in-law, Faye Schuetzle and Linda Schuetzle; and many nieces and nephews.
