Terry Lynn Halse, age 65, of Huron, passed away on July 21, 2025, in Bemidji, Minnesota, while visiting cherished family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Terry's life was held at the American Lutheran Church in Huron, on August 9, at 1:00 PM.

Visitation was held at the church from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. His service was live-streamed.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Terry are warmly invited to attend and share in remembering the life of a truly caring and thoughtful man.

Born in Huron, South Dakota on April 13, 1960, Terry was the beloved son of Glenn and Evelyn Halse. He grew up in Huron, and worked at the family business, OK Tire from a young age. He graduated from Huron High School in 1978.

A devoted community member, Terry was active in the Sunrise Rotary Club in Bemidji from 1989 to 2008 and proudly owned and operated Bemidji Tire and Auto from 1987 to 2007. He moved back to Huron in 2009, working again at OK Tire, then at Mac's Hardware until he retired in 2024.

Known as the rock of his family, he was always ready to lend a hand, listen with intention, and uplift those around him. Quick to laugh and even quicker to care, Terry found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and with the children at Donna's daycare— his playful spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Evelyn Halse; and his granddaughter, Nyomi Lynn Halse.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna Alter of Huron, SD, and her family; his children: Nathan Halse of Bemidji, MN; Nicholas (Christina) Halse of Cass Lake, MN; Nolan (Valerie) Halse of Sioux Falls, SD; Nychelle Halse of Sioux Falls, SD; and Amber (Ben) Hill of Bemidji, MN.

He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Mackenzie, Zane, Teagan, Mataya, Axel, Joseph, Nyle, Nyonna, Micah, Tatum, and Laiken; his siblings: Gary (Diane) Halse of Peoria, AZ; Jean (Bob) Mattke of Huron, SD; and Sally (Dunnley) Mattke of Marco Island, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
