Steven Kuehl, age 70, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the Sanford USD Medical Center.

His funeral service was held at 10:30 AM, Monday, April 4th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Military honors were given by the South Dakota Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team.  His funeral service was live-streamed through our website. 

Steve was born on January 13, 1952, at Huron, South Dakota, to Raymond "Jack" Kuehl and Marvella (Ahlstrom) Kuehl.  He grew up at Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1971. He entered the United States Army and served three years, then 32 years with the South Dakota National Guard. Steve attained the rank of Staff Sargent.

Steve returned to Huron in 1975 and worked at Trussbuilt from 1992 until he retired in 2014 in the Final Assembly division. He enjoyed playing pool, darts and watching the Yankees.

He is survived by his mother, Marvella Kuehl of Piedmont; his brother, Ron Kuehl of Loveland, CO; his sister, Pam (Bob) Young of Piedmont; two sons, Jon (Maria) Kuehl of Huron and Christopher Kuehl of Seattle, WA; two step-children, Kari Pullman of Huron and Dustin Pullman of Rapid City; one granddaughter, Angie Kuehl; and nieces and nephews, Dave (Aurielle) Kuehl, Jamie (Evan) Globelnik, Jennifer (Eric) Young Rodriguez, Jack Young and Joey (Emily) Young.
