Steven Eidahl, age 64, of Fremont, Nebraska and formerly of Huron, South Dakota, left this world Wednesday morning, August 31, 2022, with loved ones by his side, at the Select Specialty Hospital at Omaha, Nebraska.

His funeral service was held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 3rd at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation was held 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Steve would want for everyone to dress casually and be themselves. In lieu of flowers, Steve would prefer you save your money.

Steven Eidahl was born on March 8, 1958, to Stanley Sr. and Helen (Schroeder) Eidahl at Aberdeen, South Dakota. He was raised in Huron, a town that he loved with all his heart. To some, Steve often looked serious and intimidating, but he had a big heart and enjoyed joking around with people. As a child, Steve was a Boy Scout; and as an adult, he loved helping his neighbors. In his youth, Steve excelled in drawing and enjoyed building models.

On December 18, 1987, Steve married Catherine Hoelzel at Huron.

He loved woodworking and spending time outside in his garage with friends. There was never a day without music in his home. He had speakers wired in most every room in the house so Alabama could be heard in his workshop and every other room of the house.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and many beloved aunts and uncles.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Cathie, of 36 years; his step-daughter, Jennifer (Gerard) and their daughter, Nora; his bonus daughter, Jammie; his bonus grandchildren, Parker, Regan, Jabe and Dexter; his brother, Stanley Jr. (Sue); his sister-in-law, Barb (Bill); his brother-in-law, Tom (Nancy); his nieces, Kristy and Amanda; his nephews, Ryan, Victor and Nicholas; and numerous friends who loved him dearly.
