Shirley Lorene Bradfield, age 88, of Huron, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center. Her memorial service was at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 28th, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Katie Jerabek officiating. Burial of her cremated remains was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family prefers memorials be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Huron or a charity of donor's choice.
Shirley Lorene Binger was born January 5, 1927, to Harry and Theo (Kenison) Binger at Tulare, South Dakota. She graduated from Tulare High School in 1945 and attended Northwest College of Commerce in Huron. She worked at the Armour and Company office for 36 years, retiring in 1984. She then worked part time for the Circuit Court for two years.
On September 12, 1948, Shirley married Edward J. Freese at Tulare. He passed away November 24, 1987. On November 4, 1993, Shirley married Roger V. Bradfield at Huron. He died July 30, 1995.
Shirley was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Huron. She was also an active member of Chapter F of P.E.O., YWCA, RSVP, Huron Senior Center and several bridge clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one brother, Clayton Binger; one sister, Wanda Dawson; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Dawson, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Binger; and a nephew, Ty Jens.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her son, Mark E. Freese (Charlotte Fenske) of Huron; two step-daughters, Constance Smith of Warner Springs, California and Cynthia Jacobs of Sioux Falls; two brothers, Rolla (Elaine) Binger of Tulare and Lanny (Jan) Binger of Wichita, Kansas; one sister-in-law, Barbara Binger of Rapid City; one step-grandson, Michael (Sue) Amick of Brainerd, Minnesota; four step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
