Sherry Edwards, age 67, of Tulare, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Community Memorial Hospital at Redfield.
Her memorial service was held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
Visitation with family present was held from 4:00 until 6:00 PM on Thursday at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Her service was live-streamed.
Sherry Ann Wieting was born December 21, 1955, to Melvin and Kathleen (Wells) Wieting, at Pueblo, Colorado. She grew up in Colorado.
On May 17, 1974, Sherry married Raymond Edwards at Pueblo, Colorado. They made their home together in Hillsboro, Kansas and Huron, South Dakota.
Sherry attended Huron University, where she earned a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Secondary Education. She later continued her education there, earning a Masters' Degree in Business Administration. Most recently, she worked at the Hitchcock/Tulare Middle School and High School as a cook.
Her greatest joy in the world was her grandchildren and attending their activities. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Sherry loved to keep her mind and hands busy with crocheting, sewing, baking, reading and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Wieting; parents-in-law, Don and Una Edwards; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Edwards, Danny (Bonnie) Edwards; and sister-in-law, Susan Jacobs.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Raymond Edwards of Tulare; five children, Ray Edwards, Jr. of Huron, Joy (Darrell) Dalke of Hillsboro, Kansas, Theo (Lesa) Edwards of Millers Creek, North Carolina, Amanda Ormonde of Bakersfield, California and Paula (Ben) Wiebe of Hitchcock; twelve grandchildren, Alex (Jayden) Dalke, Faith Dalke, Micah Edwards, Grace Edwards, Eliza Ormonde, Lily Ormonde, Keira Ormonde, Camden Ormonde, Brandon Wiebe, Bethany Wiebe, Josiah Wiebe and Josephine Wiebe; her mother, Kathleen Wieting of Huron; two brothers, Mel (Rosemary) Wieting of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Terry (Lori) Wieting of Huron; two sisters, Jodene (Brent) Decker of Huron and Rochelle (Phil) Wipf of Wessington Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
