Sean Burger, age 52, of Huron, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at his home.

His funeral service was held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 9th, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Please wear your Harley Davidson attire in Sean's honor. His service was live-streamed through the Kuhler Funeral Home website.

A luncheon with a cash bar was held at the Scoreboard Bar & Grill located at 56 3rd Street SE, following the service.

Visitation was from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with a time of sharing at 4:00 PM Sunday afternoon.

Sean Frederick Burger was born October 23, 1970, to Dennis Lee and Bernadette Frieda (Stappler) Burger at Gettysburg, South Dakota. Sean attended Aberdeen Central High School and participated in wrestling.

Sean lived in several surrounding towns including Bath, Ipswich, Cresbard and Chelsea.

Sean was blessed with two children, a son, Korey in 1990 and a daughter, Karissa in 1993.

On June 21, 1996, Sean married Traci Hiles at Huron and gained 3 bonus sons, Jason, Adam and Aaron.

Sean was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan, but he would never admit he was a Vikings fan until he jumped the wagon!

Sean loved hunting and fishing with his father, family and friends. He was an amazing karaoke singer and entertained and even had some pretty good moves on the dance floor. Sean was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and help you out in any way possible.

Sean enjoyed throwing darts and bowling. He liked riding his Harley and going on poker runs with his family and friends. Sean cherished camping with his grandchildren.

Sean was employed by South Dakota Soybean Processors as a maintenance supervisor at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Bernadette; his maternal grandparents, Edmund and Frieda Dewald; his paternal grandparents, Fred Burger, Rueben Weidmeier and Luella Weidmeier; one brother-in-law, Wayne Sorenson; his mother-in-law, Mavis Flattum; and his beloved dog, Ottis; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Traci; two sisters, Mishel Burger and Stephanie Burger; one half-brother, Kevin Stappler; his children, Korey Papke, Karissa Papke, Jason Hiles, Adam Hiles and Aaron King; and his grandchildren, Noel, Cooper, Marley, Serenity, Quest, Leo, Kingston, Elijah, Silas, Alexis, Adrian, Kyler, Alice, Leon, Olivier and Walter.

Sean is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, Traci's extended family and their dog, Zoey.
