Robert T. Oswald, age 93, of Huron, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at Avantara – Huron.

His funeral service was held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 2, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. His service was live-streamed.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Robert T. Oswald was born July 30, 1929, to Thomas R. and Margaret (Edelman) Oswald at Menno, South Dakota. In 1941, his family moved from Menno to Huron, South Dakota.

On June 28, 1947, Bob married Annie Kay Kleinsasser at Huron. To this union two children were born, a daughter, Judy A. Oswald and a son, Danny R. Oswald.

He enjoyed his farm and farmed all of his life. Robert and Annie were both members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He loved playing cards with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of nearly 76 years; one son-in-law, Eugene Wipf; and his siblings, Walter, Gladys and Geneva.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his two children, Judy A. Wipf and Danny (Patricia) Oswald, all of Huron; six grandchildren, Michelle (Brendan) Stratton, Steven (Angelica) Oswald, Ginger (Brandon) Tucker, Travis (Heather Jungemann) Wipf, Sherry (Jeremy) Frost and Dustin Hofhenke; and his five-great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Dani and Christian Frost, Daniel Oswald and Wyatt Stratton.
