Raymond Knutson, age 67, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Prairie View Healthcare Center at Woonsocket.

His funeral service was held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 19th, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Wessington Springs. Burial followed in the Earlville Cemetery, Wessington Springs.  His funeral service was live-streamed through the Kuhler Funeral Home website. 

Raymond Dean Knutson was born February 12, 1955, to Herman J. and Jennie (VonEye) Knutson, at Wessington Springs.  He grew up on a farm northwest of Wessington Springs, where he farmed alongside his father and sister, Chris, for many years. He attended eight years at the Hill Top Grade School, which was a one-room school house in the countryside. He then attended Wessington Springs High School in 1973. He stayed and worked on the farm with his dad for several years after that. In 1991, Ray moved to Huron. Due to poor health, he recently moved to the Prairie View Healthcare Center at Woonsocket.

Ray enjoyed farming. To Ray, art was anything with a motor in it, whether it being a car or motorcycle, he enjoyed driving them and tinkering on them.

Ray married Kim Ransom, they later divorced but remained friends.

The little things made Ray the happiest. He was the biggest fan of his son, Nick and his dearly beloved granddaughter, Hayzleigh Raye and beloved granddaughter, Natalie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one son, Nicholas Knutson of Huron; dearly beloved granddaughter, Hayzleigh Raye Knutson and beloved granddaughter, Natalie Swanda; his special friend, Kim Knutson; seven step-children, Mariah (Wynn) Dorris, Leslie Walton, Tammy (Shane) Hammer, Kevin (Julie) Walton, Garry (Mandy) Hale, Amber (Dan) Goetz and Shannon (Todd) Beekman; 16 step-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce (Dan) Piehl of Mitchell and Christine Schleining of Livington, Montana; along with his nieces and nephews and many many cousins.
