Her visitation was held from 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 27, at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with her family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday evening.

Phyllis K. Tschetter was born July 3, 1933, to Peter S. and Kathryn (Wipf) Tschetter at rural Huron. She attended school at Fairfield Township School and Huron High School. At a young age, Phyllis accepted Christ as her Savior, and was baptized a few years later on May 19, 1946.

On October 19, 1951, she married Willard Wipf at the Hutterthal Mennonite Church (now Prairie Bible Church). Two weeks after they were married, Willard was drafted in to the United States Army, and they spent 1 ½ years in Texas. During that time their first son, Ron, was born. Upon Willard's honorable discharge, the family returned to farming in Spink County, South Dakota, and later three more children were born to complete their family: Arla, Charlotte and Nathan.

Phyllis spent her whole life as a farm wife, enjoying God's creations. God and family were the most important to her. She was a very active member of Prairie Bible Church. Sunday School and music were her personal ministries. Phyllis was a Prayer Warrior. She prayed daily for all those in need of prayers, as well as for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was a hard worker and had a sense of humor. She was a wonderful cook, baker and seamstress. She loved keeping in touch with her family on her iPad. Even while in pain for several years, Phyllis continued to share her sweet smile and everyone enjoyed her giggles.

Most all of Phyllis' family recently gathered to celebrate her 89th birthday. The next day she played spike ball with some family and watched fireworks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Arla Kleinsasser; three brothers, Arthur (Susanne) Tschetter, Peter Tschetter and Jonas Tschetter; two sisters-in-law, Emma Wipf and Margaret Wipf, and one niece, Pat Mendel and Pat's four children, Carissa, Karleen, Marce and Stacie.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband of 70 ½ years, Willard Wipf of Huron; three children, Ron (Mary Helen) Wipf of Huron, Charlotte (Gordie) Hofer of Frankfort and Nathan (Jan) Wipf of Frankfort; one son-in-law, Keith (Judy) Kleinsasser of Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren, Travis (Samantha) Wipf, Jason (Stephanie) Wipf, Andrea (Justin) Olson, Darci (Dalton) Revier, Jordon Hofer, Carissa (Ted) Boomsma, Brenda Wipf, Mitchell Wipf and Colleen Wipf; 13 great-grandchildren, Mamie, Opal, Elmer, Azalea, Joel, Hadasah, Mykelti, Zeke, Owen, Oliver, Kyler, Sophia and Gannon; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elbert Wipf, Willis (Shirley) Wipf, Wes (Rowena) Wipf, Ervin Wipf, Esther Tschetter and Beulah Tschetter; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
