Phyllis Rink, age 89, of Huron, died Monday, December 5, 2016. A private family services and burial were held on Friday.
Phyllis Heitland was born March 5, 1927, to Harman and Myrtle Heitland, in Wolsey, South Dakota. She graduated from Wolsey High School in 1945.
Phyllis married Richard "Dick" Rink on February 11, 1951, in Sioux Falls. They lived in Sioux Falls and Wessington before moving to Huron in 1959.
Phyllis had many interests; she was an avid gardener as attested to by her lovely yard. Phyllis was very active in local and state politics for many years. She was a former State Fair Board member, a member of P.E.O. and the Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Roy) Lopez of Denver, Colorado; two sons, Craig (Susan) Rink of Miles City, Montana and Scott (Rebecca) Rink of Huron; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jonathan, and Joshua Lopez, Curtis, Jacob, and Mackenzie Rink, and Lauren, Richard, Olivia and Regan Rink.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; three sisters; and one son, Michael.
