Patsy Anne Woldt, age 89, of Alpena, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at her home in Alpena.

Her memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Patsy Anne Kessler, the daughter of Lester A. and Fannie K. (Rhodes) Kessler, was born on May 25, 1934, in Mendota, Illinois. She attended school in Illinois and graduated from High School. She also attended college and graduated with a degree in finance. Patsy worked for Raven Industries in Howard, South Dakota for many years.  She also worked at Mikes Eat Shop in Brookings and as a tax preparer while living in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Patsy married James Woldt on December 31, 1955, at the Evangelical VB Church in Illinois and to this marriage were born seven children: David, James, Joseph, George, Arthur, Marcus and Mary. The couple farmed in South Dakota for many years.

Patsy moved to Sioux Falls for a short time before moving to New Mexico.   She then moved to Alpena in 2021.

Patsy was a member of the Bellevue Lutheran Church in Howard for many years where she taught Sunday school. She also was involved with a prison ministry while living in New Mexico. Patsy enjoyed genealogy, reading, playing Sudoku, and taking walks.  She also loved to share stories of her childhood.

Patsy enjoyed traveling especially her trip to the Philippines with her sister to visit her son, David.

Grateful for having shared in Patsy's life are her five sons, Joseph (Nancy) Woldt of Alpena, SD, David (Phyllis) Woldt of Sioux Falls, SD, George (Gracie) Woldt, Marcus Woldt and Arthur Woldt, all of Madison, SD; 22 grandchildren, Joe, Joshua, Stasha, David, Vickie, Jamie, Daniel, Jennifer, Matt, Jeremy, Dustin, Christina, Tabitha, Kara, Brandi, April, Jennifer, Jayme, Bobbie, Dennis, Travis and Levi; several great-grandchildren and  great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Kessler; two sisters, Bonnie Kessler and Joy Schroeder; and several nieces and nephews.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Woldt Jr.; one daughter, Mary; and one brother, Jack Kessler.
