Patricia Hirtzel, age 94, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Avantara - Huron.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 14, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church, with family present during that time.

Interment will be held in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Redfield, at a later date.

Patricia Ann Hirtzel was born June 22, 1930, in Carpenter, South Dakota, to George and Bertha Hansch. The family moved to Willow Lake, South Dakota in 1939, where she graduated from high school in 1948.

Pat graduated from Olympic Junior College, Bremerton, Washington, in June 1950. She moved to Redfield, South Dakota and began working at Spink County Bank.

On June 4, 1953, she married Robert W. Hirtzel in Redfield. They moved to Huron, South Dakota, where she worked at Farmers & Merchants Bank.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Kouch of Huron; two sons, Steven in Custer, South Dakota and Douglas in Fountain Hills, Arizona; and one grandson, Adam Kouch of Pembroke Pines, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Bell; three brothers, Lyle Scouten, Harold Scouten and Larry Hansch; and her husband, Robert.

Memorials may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
