Obituary

Pamela Boomsma, age 65, of Hitchcock, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the Dougherty Hospice House at Sioux Falls, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Her funeral service was held at 2:00 PM Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, with burial in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Her service was live-streamed through the Kuhler Funeral Home website  .

 A prayer service was held at 7:00 PM Friday at the Kuhler Funeral Home, and was live-streamed.

Pamela Hazel Schuman was born June 14, 1955, to Elmer and Hazel (Knutson) Schuman at Huron. Pamela graduated from Huron High School in 1973. She worked for Aerostar, a subsidiary of Raven Industries for 31 years and retired in 2007. Pamela also had several part-time positions after her retirement, including Beadle County Extension Service, Harrington Accounting and Orthopedics Institute.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, John. Pamela loved camping and making great meals for all of her family, neighbors and friends. She cherished her family and always made them her number one priority. Pamela was a member of the Huron First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Hazel Schuman; Tory Boomsma; and her brother-in-law, Carl Beckman.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, John; her children, Nicole (Jammey) Rawden of Volga, Heidi (Allen) Harris of Mountain Home, Idaho, Holly (Mark) Lehmkuhl of Lenexa, Kansas and Lucas Boomsma of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren, Logan Lewis of Plankinton, Patrick Harris of Lewiston, Idaho, Cassandra Rawden of Brookings, Savannah Rawden of Volga, Dominic Lehmkuhl of Lenexa, Kansas and Alexandra Lehmkuhl of Lenexa, Kansas. Pamela is also survived by one sister, Gail Beckman of Woodbury, Minnesota; and one brother, Jerry (Patti) Schuman of Cambridge, Minnesota.
