Norman "Frank" Griffith, age 82, of Huron, died Monday, April 20, 2015, at the De Smet Good Samaritan Center at De Smet. His funeral service was held at 4 PM, Saturday, April 25th at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with Rev. Chad Rose, officiating.
Norman Francis Griffith was born October 22, 1932, to Percy Ellis and Lila (Deeds) Griffith at Athon, Iowa. He grew up in the Volga area and graduated from Volga High School.
On April 6, 1952, Frank married Clareen Ruth Ishmael at Quartzsite, Arizona. They worked together as bee keepers in California, Idaho, Montana and South Dakota. They moved to Huron in 1963 where they established the Griffith Honey Company of Huron and Kirbyville, Texas. He retired in the late 90's.
Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clareen; one son, James; two brothers, Glen and Mercer; and a sister in infancy, Shirley.
Grateful for having shared in his life are two sons, John Griffith of Huron, Joe (Kirsten) Griffith of Alcester; three daughters, Elva (Howard) Stenbak of Huron, Sherry Griffith of Huron, and Linda (Dr. Bob) Millican of Plover, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren, Sarah, Christina, Cole, Tyler, Spencer, Joshua, Alex, Chelsey, Shelby, Travis, Toni, and Alex; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Royce Griffith and Dean (Janet) Griffith, both of Minneapolis.
