Nathan Scotter, age 36, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2023, at the Sanford USD Medical Center, at Sioux Falls.

His funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 7th at the First Congregational Church.

His visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Nathan Scotter was born January 23, 1987, to Kenneth and Becky (Fox) Scotter at Huron. He lived in Huron all of his life. Nathan had a couple of jobs, but was most proud of his work at the Rollin Wheel in Wolsey.

Nathan was a son, brother, grandson, friend and uncle. He adored his niece and nephews, and was the fun and crazy kind of uncle who would drop anything to play with them. Nathan had a good heart and was considerate of others. He would give the shirt of his back to anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Karen Fox in 2016; his paternal grandfather, Gene Scotter in 1985; his parents, Kenny in 2013 and Becky in 2015; his brother, Justin Lake in 2021; and one cousin, Eric Scotter in 2011.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his maternal grandfather, Dean Fox of Clark, paternal grandmother, Shirley Scotter of Huron; his sister, Chelsey and Justin Brock of Huron; his sister-in-law, Amy Lake of Tea; his niece and nephews, Austin Lake, Jayden Schoenfelder, and Korbin, Adilynn and Quintin Brock; his special friend, Maureen of Huron; his aunts and uncles, Russ and Claudia Scotter of Cresbard, Gary and Sharon Scotter of Huron, Penny and Brad Culver of Huron, Martin Fox of De Smet, Brett and Wanda Hanson of Wolsey, Chantell and Bryan Engells of Minneota, Minnesota, JoLinda and Reece Brown of Gettysburg and Jodi and John Heller of Basehor, Kansas; and many cousins.
