Myrna Losing, age 79, of Huron and formerly of Alpena, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 14th, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Alpena.
Myrna Mae Lehr was born May 30, 1938, to John and Iola (Orth) Lehr at Mitchell. She attended country school through the eighth grade at Grant Township School. As a teenager, Myrna accepted Jesus as her Savior.
On October 15, 1954, Myrna married Elmer Losing at the Alpena Congregational Church. Elmer and Myrna lived and worked side by side on the family farm near Alpena.
Myrna was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Myrna's faith was important to her and she shared that faith with her children and the youth at her church where she taught Sunday school. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, helping them with their 4-H projects and attending their activities. She was a fabulous cook and known for her potato salad, creamed potatoes and holiday baking.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Elmer Losing of Huron; one daughter, Roxanne Bobolz of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; two sons, Gaylan (Peggy) Losing and Scott (DeVonne) Losing, both of Alpena; six grandchildren, Aaron (Mary) Losing, Justin (Ashlee) Johnson, Amber (Matt) Wenzel, Cody (Jennifer) Bobolz, Amy (Chris) Albrecht and Ashley Losing; eight great-grandchildren, Layne and Londyn Wenzel, Kennedy and Hadley Bobolz, Brooklyn and Cameron Johnson, Cade Albrecht and Emma Losing; and four sisters-in-law, Margaret Lehr of Huron, Elaine Losing and Ella Mae (Allan) Hofer, both of Sioux Falls and Yvonne Sprecher of Huron.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Todd; her parents; one brother, Ron Lehr; one son-in-law, Roger Bobolz; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Curt and Ginny Losing and Betty and Harold Walter.
