Millie M. Hammer, age 74, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 2nd at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, July 1st at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with her family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday evening. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM Monday evening at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
Millie Mae Marshall was born September 11, 1944, to Morris and Ida (Brun) Marshall at Letcher, South Dakota. She graduated from Letcher High School. Millie continued her education at Huron College, where she graduated with Highest Honors.
She was married to Larry Hargen and they had one son, Brett.
She later married Brad Erickson, and they had one daughter, Luanne.
On February 16, 1990, Millie married Walter Hammer at Carthage, South Dakota. They enjoyed camping and fishing and wintering in Arizona for 14 years. Millie and Walt were members of the Fun Steppers Dance Club and loved ballroom dancing. She cherished the time she could spend with their great-granddaughters.
She was a long-time member of the American Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eunice Owell and Beulah Peterson; and one brother, Gary Marshall.
Millie is survived by her husband, Walt of Huron; two children, Brett Hargen, Yankton, and Luann Erickson, of Oroville, California; three step-children, Karen (Gary) Seeman, of Rochester, Minnesota, Kevin (Colette) Hammer, of Florence, Alabama, and Debra (Dave) Wilson, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four grandsons; six step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Opal Clits of Carthage; and one brother, Xlyon Marshall of Florida.
