Marsel "Mike" Gogolin, age 88, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

His private funeral service was held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 30th, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, and was live-streamed through the Kuhler Funeral Home Facebook page. Military honors were conducted by the Huron Veterans Council. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Marsel "Mike" Leroy Gogolin was born August 29, 1932, to Harold and Edra (Phillips) Gogolin at Wolsey. He grew up in the Wolsey area and graduated from Wolsey High School in 1950. Mike then joined the United States Navy, and served 4 years during the Korean War on the USS Thompson. Mike was a long-time member of the American Legion and 4-et8. He worked at Farmland Industries for many years and later worked as a plumber for H. Kuhns and Sons.

On December 12, 1954, Mike married Mary Ann LaFee at Huron. They made their home primarily in Huron, and raised their four children. Mary Ann passed away on May 16, 2008.

Mike loved life, he enjoyed traveling and golfing. He liked to go fishing with his brother-in-law, Phillip.

On October 5, 2019, Mike married Donna McGillvrey at Huron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Mary Ann and Wanda; four sisters, Lila Merritt, Bernice Schamp, Carol Lyman and Wanda Dammeier; brother-in-law, Glenn LaFee; and sister-in-law, Betty LaFee.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Donna of Huron; his sister, Phyllis (Phillip) Testerman; his children, Gary (Roxy) Gogolin of Huron, Gayle Kludt of Lake Byron, Greg (Laura) Gogolin of Rosemount, Minnesota and Gene (Susan) Gogolin of Middleburg, Florida; his grandchildren, Geoff (Lisa) Gogolin, Amanda Gogolin, Lee (Jennifer) Kludt, Ben (Alyx) Gogolin and Mackenzie (George) Gogolin; his great-grandchildren, Judson and Brantley Gogolin, Easton, Brody and Hudson Kludt, and Axel and Henrik Gogolin; Donna's children, Jim (Caroline) McGillvrey, Allen (Terri) McGillvrey, Lori (Doug) Langbehn, Richard McGillvrey and Robert (Penny) McGillvrey; her 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
