Michael Heisler, age 56, of Huron, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at his home. His graveside service was held at 1 PM, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Joseph Holzhauser, officiating. Military honors were conducted by the Huron Veterans Council.
On February 25, 1959, Michael Paul Heisler was born to John and Lorraine (Penrod) Heisler at Wausau, Wisconsin. He graduated from High School in Wausau before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at Twentynine Palms, California. Michael was then stationed at Okinawa Island, Japan and was a Sargent artillery weapon / turr repairman with the 4th Battalion 11th Marines 1st Marine Division. After his eight years of service, he moved to Denver, Colorado to work as an outdoor sales representative and manager for Alpine Lumber, Orepac and Western Pacific.
In 1993, Michael met Ann Montgomery in Colorado. The couple later moved to Wausau before settling in Huron to be closer to Ann's family. Michael was employed at Timber Roots in Huron.
Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Michael was very grateful and appreciative of his family, friends and so much of Ann's entire family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mark Heisler; and one nephew, Corey Jehn.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his lifelong partner, Ann Montgomery of Huron; two daughters, Jenna Heisler and Stacey Heisler, both of Aurora, Colorado; three grandchildren; one brother, John (Jean) Heisler of Mosinee, Wisconsin; two sisters, Lori (Russell) Kampfer of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Connie Jehn of Denver, Colorado; one uncle, Mick (Donna) Owen of Arvada, Colorado; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
