Matthew John Walker, age 31, of Huron, passed away in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

His memorial visitation was held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date.

Matthew John Walker, the son of Harold Foote and Carrie (Hufford) Fuerst, was born on June 16, 1993, in Winner, South Dakota. Matthew grew up in Winner before moving to Huron, in 1999. Matthew graduated from Huron High School. He worked for Dakota Provisions and LSI for a time, before he began working at Glacial Lakes Energy.

Matthew served in the South Dakota National Guard for a number of years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going on road trips in his truck.

Grateful for having sharing in Matthew's life are his mother, Carrie (Lloyd) Fuerst of Huron; his children, Leah Walker and Dawson Walker; his siblings, James Hufford of Yankton, Carlos Hufford, Eli Foote of California and Anna Scheibe of Sioux Falls; one half-brother, George Foote; three half-sisters, Stephanie, Tevis and Gwen all of California; and his nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his father, Harold Foote.
