Marjy Milliken, age 89, of Huron, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Avantara – Huron.

A graveside service was held in the Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis.

Marjy (Gwynn) Milliken was born to Charles E. and Faye (Kime) Gwynn at Lund, Nebraska on February 16, 1931. Marjy grew up on her parent's ranch near Lund. Marjy was the middle of three girls, with sisters, Dorothy and Clara.

Marjy and Roy Milliken of Martin, South Dakota, were married December 31, 1955, at Cody, Nebraska. During their married life they lived in Wisconsin, South Dakota, Nebraska, Nevada, Idaho and New Mexico before moving to Huron, South Dakota in 1977. Making life-long friends all along the way.

Marjy was a fantastic cook and a spotless homemaker and known for the big gardens she shared with friends and neighbors.

Grateful for sharing in Marjy's life are her children, Gwynne McDonald of Huron, Debbie (John) Oliver of Abilene, Texas and Ross (Rhonda) Milliken of Gillette, Wyoming. Four grandchildren, Dannielle (Jory) Spain, Jennifer Milliken Jamie (Kelly) Milliken and Heather (Garrett) Reede. Seven great-grandchildren, Jade, Carson and Logan Spain, Emily and Ella Reede, Connor and Chloe Schmoker.

Marjy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy in 2018; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Dean Schied and Clara and Walter Empkey; and brother-in-law, Ray Milliken, Jr.

The family would like to thank Dad and Mom's many life-long friends for all the adventures and stories over these many years.

The family would also like to thank the caregivers and staff at Stoneybrook for all the care you gave Mom, you became like family to her. Thank you also the to Avantara for your care.

Mom would prefer instead of flowers that remembrances be given to the Shriner's , helping others long after flowers have faded.
