Visitation was held from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, Friday, November 3, at the Kuhler Funeral Home, Huron, with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Lyman Waldner, the son of David and Barbara (Walter) Waldner, was born on December 1, 1931, in rural South Dakota. Lyman lived in the Doland area for most of his life and attended country schools. Lyman served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged on February 27, 1954.

Lyman married LaDonna Mary Stanley on July 13, 1956, in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Lyman worked construction during the week and farmed on the weekend. During his tenure as a construction worker, Lyman helped build the Oahe Dam in Fort Pierre, South Dakota, and helped construct the copper roof on the federal building in Aberdeen.  In 1975, Lyman decided to farm full-time.

Lyman was a member of the Prairie Bible Community Church for many years. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union. Lyman enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son, Doug. He also enjoyed tinkering on car engines. Lyman loved to travel, in fact, one of his favorite trips was to Nashville, Tennessee, where he could enjoy his "Old Time Country Music".  He loved spending time with his family and friends and would go out of his way to help his kids every chance he would get.

Grateful for having shared in Lyman's life are his two children, Douglas (Melanie) Waldner of Hayfield, Minnesota and Joyce (Scott) Wilson of East Wenatchee, Washington; seven grandchildren, Derrick, Cassandra, Sophia, Christian and Diezel Waldner and Kayla and Brandon Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Cayden, Charlotte, Caroline, and Paisley; two sisters, Delila Jones of Frankfort, South Dakota and Rae Boudreau of Monticello, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaDonna in 2008; and one granddaughter, Alexis MaryAnn.
