Lowell Hofer, age 68, of Hitchcock, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, at his son's home.

His memorial visitation was held from 10:00 to Noon, Tuesday, March 28, at the Kuhler Funeral Home.

A private burial was held in the Prairie Bible Church Cemetery, rural Carpenter.

Lowell Dean Hofer was born September 8, 1954, to Sam M. and Ruth R. (Kleinsasser) Hofer at Huron.

Lowell worked many jobs, moving his family to Nebraska, Utah and returning to Huron in 1990. He worked as a gravel truck driver, semi driver, dairy farmer and the last couple of years as a taxi driver.

Lowell enjoyed cooking anything seafood and lots of soups. He was always looking for new recipes and trying new spices. He liked making big meals for his family, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas times.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ruth; and his brother, Shorty.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren, Casper and Sara Hofer and their son, Anthony; Toby and Becky Hofer and their son, Miles; Kowell and Kelsey Hofer and their daughter, Kynslee; Derrick and Megan Hofer and their children, Emily, Addilyn, Cassidy, Lane and Dixie; and Jena Hofer and her children, Lainie and Sam. Lowell is also survived by his sister, Rhonda Hofer; one uncle; one aunt; and many cousins.
