Lori Meyers, age 62, of Huron, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at Avantara - Huron.

Her funeral service was held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 27, at Living Hope Alliance Church with burial in the Ideal Cemetery. Military Honors was conducted by the Huron Veterans Council. Her service was live-streamed.

Visitation with family present was held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. 

Donations/Memorials are welcome but not expected.

Lori Louann Wipf was born August 27, 1963, to Floyd and Adena (Pullman) Wipf at Huron. She grew up in Huron and received her education at Huron School District.

She joined the United States Army in 1980, and later received a medical honorable discharge. Lori continued her education at Huron College, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She worked as a correctional officer at the Beadle County Jail. In 1988, Lori married David Meyers. Later, Lori and David divorced.

Lori was a life-time member of Living Hope Alliance Church. She enjoyed spending time with her cats. Going fishing was a favorite pastime. Lori was skilled in crafts and enjoyed doing beadwork. Lori spent several years ministering to people using a Christian greeting card ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, David in infancy and Kenneth. 

Lori is survived by her son, Scott Alan Meyers of Minnesota; one step-son, Robert Meyers of Sioux Falls; one step-daughter, Sarah Meyers of Sioux Falls; one sister, Ruby Crandall of Huron; one brother, Elias (Cindy) Wipf of Watertown; several nieces and nephews.
