Loma Helfinstine, age 93, of Huron, died Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 11 AM, Monday, September 26th at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Oldham Lutheran Cemetery.
Loma Anderson was born November 20, 1922, to Anton and Bertha (Becker) Anderson at Oldham. She grew up at Oldham and graduated from Oldham High School.
She married Leroy Helfinstine on January 27, 1942, at Oldham. They moved to Lake Preston, where she served as Deputy Clerk of Courts for Kingsbury County for nineteen years, retiring in 1985. They moved to Huron in 1998.
She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
Loma was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; an infant daughter, Kay; her parents; one brother, Eben Anderson; two sisters, Gertrude Shultis and Muriel Christensen; one grandson, Kyle Foster; and one great-granddaughter, Kylee Foster.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children and their spouses, Lonny and Dianne Helfinstine of Aberdeen, Annette and Lyle Zell of Huron, and Jane and William Foster Jr. of Napoleon, North Dakota; eight grandchildren, Greg (Ann) Zell, Carla (Dan) Hedding, Beth (Kale) Urban, Susan (Randy) Foster, Derrick (Becky) Foster, Cyndi (Scott) Bishop, Jeff (Ginger) Odell and Jan (Chris) Hugh; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
