Lola McHugh, age 83, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 6th at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Lola Jean Klinger was born July 13, 1936, to Clarence and Edna (Lienemann) Klinger at Fulton, South Dakota. She grew up in the Fulton area and graduated from Fulton High School.
On June 15, 1957, Lola married "Mac" Merlyn McHugh at the First Lutheran Church at Mitchell. She worked at the Fulton State Bank for three years. In 1959, the couple then moved to Huron, where they raised their family. For the next 40 years, Lola was an Avon representative.
Lola was a member of the Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially while fishing and camping. She also bowled for a few years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Randall Klinger; two sisters-in-law, Donna Klinger and Joyce Klinger; two brothers-in-law, Robert Hubbart and Garry McHugh; and her parents-in-law, Rex and Eunice McHugh.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, "Mac" McHugh of Huron; three sons, Doug (Jill) McHugh of Huron, Dan (Tamme Rohde) McHugh of Watertown and Delvin (JoAnn) McHugh of Huron; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Hubbart of Mitchell; and one brother, Rodney Klinger of Mitchell.
