Lois Perleberg, age 88, of Huron, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026, with her family by her side at Avantara - Huron.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 29, at the American Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation with family present will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Lois Jean Bloodgood was born August 29, 1937, to Elmer and Mary Bloodgood at Huron, South Dakota. She was the youngest of six children.

On August 17, 1957, Lois married the love of her life, Rance Perleberg at Bancroft, South Dakota. They were married for 68 years.

Lois and Rance adopted two children, Juletta and Mark in the early 1960s. They were active members at the American Lutheran Church, always helping out where needed whether it was delivering meals on wheels, ushering or other things.

Lois worked at the Plainsman part time so she could be home with their two children.

They loved to square dance in their younger years with the Belles and Beaus and took several bus trips to all 50 states. As they got older, Lois and Rance spent a lot of time at the Huron Area Senior Center.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Rance on May 1, 2026; their son, Mark Perleberg on July 15, 2023; her parents, Elmer and Mary Bloodgood; one brother and his wife, Ralph and Darleen Bloodgood; four sisters and their husbands, Fern Henamster, Phyllis and Ferd Zell, Arlett and Lester Lundberg and Norma Engleheart.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Juletta Bradley and her husband, Mike Bradley of Huron; her grandchildren, Dustin Bradley, Dawn Lems and her husband, Casey, Jeff Perleberg and his wife, Chasity and Greg Perleberg and his wife, Jillian; her step-granddaughter, Michele Steele; her great-grandchildren, Raya Bradley, Hannah, Ian and Jonah Lems, Dakota Steele and Devon, Charlie and Iesha; and three great-great-grandchildren.
