Lila L. Bawdon, age 87 of Huron, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019, at SunQuest Healthcare Center. Her memorial service was held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 22nd at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Entombment was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum.
Lila LaVonne Hall was born February 2, 1932, in Huron, South Dakota, to James and Ada (Baruth) Hall, Jr.Lila was raised in the Ree Heights area, attended Miller High School. On June 19, 1949, she married Richard Bawdon at Centerville, South Dakota. They lived south of Ree Heights, where they ranched until moving to Huron in 1968. Lila enjoyed crafts, needle point, crochet, decorating, restoring antiques, gardening, square dancing and puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; two sons, Kevin and Stanley; son-in-law, Norm; brother, Don Hall; and brother-in-law, Don Heasley.
Lila is survived by her children, Jesse Bawdon of Sioux Falls, Diane Bryan of North Pole, Alaska, Terry (Marla) Bawdon of Huron, and Brad (Brenda) Bawdon of Alpena; nine grandchildren, Corey, Raquel, Melissa, Dawn, Kayla, Kraig, Krystle, Tiffany and Chris; three step-grandchildren, Kris, Kelly and Kent; eleven great-grandchildren, Miles, Alexis, Payge, Jadie, Clara, Kayla, Noah, Olivia, Conner, Rylan and Marissa; nine step-great-grandchildren, Aasyn, Alex, Heather, Ryan, Brettan, Payton, Alex, Ulysis and Isaac; six great-great-step-grandchildren, Jacklyn, Samantha, Grant, Kristian, Nicholas and Bryson; one sister, Bonnie Heasley, of Miller; one sister-in-law, Joyce Hall of McAllen, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
