LaVerne Stahl, age 85, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.

His funeral service was heldaat 11:00 AM, Monday, January 14th at Bethesda Church. Burial was in the Bethesda Church section of the Ideal Cemetery.

LaVerne J. Stahl, son of Joshua B. and Anna (Kleinsasser) Stahl was born in the flesh on October 14, 1933, in Yale, South Dakota. He was born in the spirit June 30, 1955.

He married Rosetta "Tootie" DeNolf on October 15, 1957, in Huron.

To this union four children were born, Brion (Tracy) Stahl, Angelyn (Tom Coville) Palmer, Nathan (Joan) Stahl and Meribeth (Jerry) Shaw.

He has eleven grandchildren, Candice Stahl, Caleb (Breanna) Stahl, Joshua (Michelle) Palmer, Joseph Palmer, Jessica (Robbie) Stowell, Jennifer Nehman, Taylor Stahl, Deric (Amanda) Terrell-Stahl, Tanisha Stahl, Tyson (Bailey Swenson) Stahl and Jerome Shaw.

He also has eighteen great grandchildren, Kira Daher, Oakley Stahl, Jaylen Palmer, Loghan Palmer, Leo Palmer, Jerricka Johnson-Palmer, Breckyn Stowell, Addison Stowell, Ashton Stowell, Dante Nehman, Andre Nehman, Brielle Stahl, Xzavier Terrell-Stahl, Zona Terrell, Phaedra Terrell, Quinton Terrell, Elijah McMahan and Ensley Ann Swenson-Stahl.

LaVerne is also survived by one brother, DeLor Stahl of Yale; one sister, Julia (John) Diede of Redfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Frank and Charlotte DeNolf; one son-in-law, Patrick Palmer; great-granddaughter, Ensley Ann Swenson-Stahl; and one sister, Phoebe Stahl.

LaVerne loved restoring old cars and tractors. He collected IH memorabilia and had a great collection. He worked for Armour's & Co. and delivered feed from the ethanol plant to farmers in the area. He loved to drive his truck and see the country side. He farmed by Yale, South Dakota for many years.

He loved his family and the Lord, and will be greatly missed.
