Larry L. Waldner, age 84 years, of Huron, S.D., passed away on May 4, 2023, at Huron Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

A service to celebrate Larry's life was held at 10:30 a.m., on Wedneday, May 10, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Interment followed in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. His service was live-streamed .

A visitation was held from 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 9, at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A prayer service and time of sharing was held at 6:30 PM Tuesday evening.

Larry was born in Huron on January 29, 1939, to Andrew J. and Anna (Tschetter) Waldner. He grew up on a farm near Carpenter and attended school in Yale. He graduated in 1957 from Yale High School. Following his graduation, he attended Huron College for two years.

On March 1, 1963, he married his sweetheart, Eileen Kahre, in Wolsey, S.D. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Roger, Connie and Curtis. This past March, they celebrated their 60 ^th Anniversary.

Larry farmed with his father for a few years and then worked in the Huron area for many years before retiring from Zip Feed Mills, where he worked for over 20 years.

Larry loved the outdoors and especially the ball diamond, playing in several leagues between Huron and Yale. He enjoyed time with his sons and being their Little League coach. It is no surprise he was a Minnesota Twins fan. In addition to his love of all things baseball, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards and completing puzzles.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Patrick Winegar, in-laws, Art and Gertrude Kahre, sister Bela (Ray) Groenhoff, brothers-in-law Toby Glanzer and Vernon (Gerri) Kahre, Lester (Corinne) Kahre, and a nephew, Terry Glanzer.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Waldner, his children, Roger (Amy) Waldner, Connie Winegar, Curtis Waldner, all of Huron, and his grandchildren Kasey (Gaston) Millar, Damon Winegar and Alexandra Waldner; sister, Donna Glanzer; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
