IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kimberly
Simmons
July 20, 1945 – March 5, 2026
Kimberly Simmons, age 80, of Virgil and formerly of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Avantara – Huron.
Her memorial service will be held at Coldspring, Texas at a later date.
Written by Wayne Stockstill:
My beautiful little sister, Kimberly Simmons, has been called Home by God.
She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She was an international stewardess with National Airlines until 1972. She then got married, and had a disabled daughter, Kimberly D. Simmons, affectionately called "Dolly", she was caretaker for until Dolly passed in 2024. She has lived with us for 9 years, both at our Texas Ranch and more recently at Virgil, South Dakota.
She had a huge heart and took in 3 children from birth to foster: Jessany Burch, Sarah Smith, and Jayden Allen.
She owned a pet grooming shop, Love Ur Pet, until she retired.
Sister courageously battled brain cancer three times, but chose not to receive treatment this time. I am so thankful she passed peacefully and had no pain. I would like thank Huron Regional Medical Center and the hospice staff and regular staff at Avantara Nursing Home in Huron, South Dakota for their wonderful care.
Sister will be greatly missed. She is survived by her brothers and their families: Tommy (Gracie) Stockstill of Center, Texas, and Wayne (Debbi) Stockstill of Coldspring, Texas and Virgil, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by our parents; an older sister, Jean Stockstill Smith, of Cleveland, Texas; and her daughter, Kimberly D. Simmons, of Coldspring, Texas.
