Kevin Schiele, age 62, of Huron, passed away peacefully at the Huron Regional Medical Center on Saturday September 23, 2023.

A Celebration of Kevin's Life was held at 3:30 PM, Friday, September 29, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. His service was live-streamed.

Kevin A. Schiele was born on September 14, 1961, to Allen and Darlene (Ziebarth) Schiele at South St. Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in the Huron area, and graduated from Huron High School in 1980.

Kevin worked at Al's Red Owl from 1973 to 1988, then for the DM & E Railroad from 1988 to 1992, and then for Olson Digging from 1992 until an injury forced him to retire in July 2017.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys and Westerns. He loved cooking and was great at it. Spending time with family and friends was his joy, and especially loved all the little ones. He had a love for gardening and was so proud of his produce and flowers.

Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, Dean.

He is survived by his parents, Allen and Darlene Schiele of Huron; his children, Ashley (Eric) Hiles of Wolsey and Josh (Jaime) McGillvrey of Spearfish; his grandchildren, Alyssa (Marrien), Hannah, Clayton and Haylee Hiles and Trey, Kai and Memphis McGillvrey; two sisters, Roxy (Todd) Peskey of Minot, North Dakota and Tana (Brad) Berens of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
