Kenneth L. Pinkal, age 81, of Huron, reached his heavenly home Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
His graveside service was held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 5th at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. The service was livestreamed through the Kuhler Funeral Home Facebook page .
Kenneth Pinkal was born June 15, 1939, to Arthur John and Elsie (Holforty) Pinkal, at the Sprague Hospital in Huron. He attended Huron High School and lived in Huron all of his life.
Ken was baptized by Cal Huether on August 28, 1955, at the Bible Baptist Church, now the Calvary Baptist Church.
On December 23, 1960, Ken married Barbara K. Dickinson at the Presbyterian Church.
He worked for Groves Construction, Huron Furnace and Herman Busch Construction, and later went on to form Pinkal Construction.
He took great pride in quality workmanship. He designed and built the original Barn Restaurant, as well as many homes in the Huron area. His artistic talents were known by many. In his later years, he made many pop can airplanes, enjoyed hunting and trap shooting, and had a special love for his "little friends" the squirrels and rabbits.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Delores (Robert) Huether and Gloria Anderson.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Barbara of Huron; two sons, Mark (Nadine) Pinkal of Hamilton, Montana and Steve Pinkal of Minneapolis, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Gange; one brother-in-law, James Anderson; nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
