Kenneth E. Jensen, age 76, died Friday, November 25, 2016, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 28th at the Salvation Army Chapel. Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Kenneth E. Jensen was born on January 5, 1940, to Ralph and Mildred (Munion) Jensen at Huron. He worked as a janitor for many years and then went on to work for the Center for Independence in their production department.
Kenneth was a volunteer at the Salvation Army for 60+ years. He enjoyed volunteering daily at the Salvation Army kitchen doing dishes, setting tables, making coffee and wrapping silverware. During the Christmas holiday season he could be found ringing the bells for their red kettle fundraising program. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church.
He cherished the time he spent with friends and neighbors at the apartment complex where he lived.
Kenneth liked playing UNO, Skip-Bo and the Wii and shooting pool.He enjoyed working jig-saw puzzles and once completed would hang the puzzles on his apartment walls, of which amounted to 24 puzzles. He liked to ride "his horse" Windchime at the Hope Ranch. He participated in the Special Olympics. He especially enjoyed watching Twins baseball. Kenneth attended many community activities, but especially liked the car races and the Thursday night in the park entertainment during the summer months.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jerry, Ronald and Richard Jensen.
Survivors include one sister, Alice Waldner of Huron; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Jensen of Lovell, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews.
