IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kaitlyn Rose
Lavoy
December 31, 1998 – August 24, 2022
Kaitlyn Lavoy, age 23, of Wolsey, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at her home.
Her celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Dakotaland Federal Credit Union for Trigve in care of Shane Schortzmann.
Kaitlyn Rose Lavoy was born on December 31, 1998, to Douglas and Aundrea (Muth) Lavoy in Rapid City, South Dakota. Her family moved to Ree Heights when she was 3 years old. She attended school in Miller, Highmore and Huron. At sixteen, she moved to Huron, where she resided until recently moving to Wolsey.
Kaitlyn recently became a mother and was the best mom and companion to Shane. She had a very adventurous spirit and was extremely artistic, especially working with wood, metal and whatever was available to complete projects around home.
She would go out of her way to help anyone she could, extremely supportive and caring. Loved going to the races, where Shane proposed to her during Wheel Jam last year.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sharon Lavoy.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her fiancé, Shane Schortzmann; her son, Trigve James Schortzmann; her parents, Andi (Arlen) Ferguson of Rapid City and Doug (April) Lavoy of Ree Heights; her brother, Jesse (Macey) Lavoy of Warner; her grandparents, Ron and Connie Muth of Wolsey; her great-grandma, Luella Longcor; her granddad, Roger Lavoy; Greg and Sherry Schortzmann and family; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; along with her close friend Kylie Gross and many other friends.
