Judy K. Kalahar, age 82, of Huron, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Huron Regional Medical Center, under hospice care.
Her memorial visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 6, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery.

Judy Kay Quiram was born July 16, 1940, to Walter and Freda (Moller) Quiram at Huron. She was raised on a farm five miles west of Wolsey. Judy attended Wolsey School until her junior year, when she moved to Huron to live with an aunt. There she met her future husband, Michael Kalahar, and they graduated from Huron High School in 1958. Judy and Michael were married, October 27, 1958, at St. Martin's Church in Huron.
Judy's main profession throughout her career was in the accounting and bookkeeping roles. Through the years, Judy had various jobs including working at Raven Industries, Huron Well Drilling, Bank First, Dr. Mick Guerin's office and Dr. Charles Hoffman's office. She also attended Northwest College of Commerce and Huron College, while raising her children.
Judy enjoyed crocheting, going to the lake cabin, sewing, and raising her family. She also enjoyed attending a variety of motorcycle events, including the Sturgis Bike Rally, where her and her husband sold T-shirts and jewelry.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael Dean (1963) in infancy and Jeffrey John (2019); one grandchild, Katrina White, and three siblings, Shirley Brake, Wally Quiram and Dianne Thompson.
Judy is survived by her husband, Michael Kalahar of Huron; three daughters, Christine (Terry) Hanten, Kathleen (Dan) Weinstein, both of Sioux Falls and Sheryl (Bob) Blue of Iroquois; along with six grandchildren, Sean Larson, Michael Moilan, Nichole VanOverschelde, Abbigale Cline, Laci Huls, and Kayce Kalahar; many great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Douglas (Debra) Quiram of Aberdeen and Jill Anderson of Huron.
