Joyce K. Hines, age 76, of Huron, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital at Mitchell. Her funeral service was held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 21st at the Restoration Church (formerly known as Huron First Assembly of God Church). Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to HRMC Hospice.
Joyce Karen Winter was born July 12, 1942, to Rueben and Alma (Schimke) Winter at Wessington Springs, South Dakota. She attended school at Wessington Springs from grade school through junior college.
On September 2, 1967, Joyce married Marvin LeRoy Hines at the First Assembly of God Church at Huron. They continued to be members of the church all of their lives together.
Joyce enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She also liked gardening, tending to her houseplants, scrapbooking, and journaling.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Marvin Hines of Huron; her daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Eric Porter of Huron; her son and daughter-in-law, Kip and Jennifer Hines of Staples, Minnesota; her six grandchildren, Serena, Ashley and Shonda Porter and Laken, Bella and Willow Hines. She is also survived by one brother, Gordon Winter of Idaho.
