Joy Pawlowski, age 87, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Tieszen Memorial Home at Marion.

Her funeral service was held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 28, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. A private family burial followed in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with her family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday evening.

Joy Bell Kraft was born March 20, 1936, to George and Lucille (Cobb) Kraft at Mitchell, South Dakota. She grew up on a farm in Aurora County. In 1954, the family moved to Wessington Springs.

On September 22, 1956, Joy married Eldon Pawlowski at Wessington Springs. For eight years, they made their home in Woonsocket, until Eldon was transferred to Huron for work. To this union two children were born, Judy Rae and John Eldon. Joy enjoyed tending to her yard and flower gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Bobby Kraft and Richard Kraft; and her father-in-law, Theodore Pawlowski.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Judy and Michael Law and John and Vicki Pawlowski; her grandchildren, Angie and Jerrad Fast, Jill and Jason Meyer, Janelle and Jamey Pietz, Brennen Borah, Lee and Angie Rycraft and AliJo Pawlowski; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Lang and Alice and Clarence Knapp; and many nieces and nephews.
