Jody Robert McCloud, 69, of Huron, ended his adventure here on earth, Wednesday, June 26, 2023. His caring wife and family surrounded him with love in his final moments in the comfort of his own home.

His family plans to celebrate Jody's life in North Dakota, at a later date.

Jody was born on October 17, 1953, in Lisbon, North Dakota, to Lloyd R. McCloud, Sr. and Vivian M. (Dick) McCloud. He grew up in the Englevale, North Dakota area with four brothers and one sister.

In 1971, he graduated from Lisbon High School.  He then graduated from the North Dakota State School of Science welding program in 1972, and graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Elementary Education. He worked several jobs which included employment at the Bobcat Factory, Joseph Café, Railroad Engineer, and Huron City Water Department. He considered his most memorable job to be working on a fishing boat off the coast of Alaska.

On April 16, 1983, Jody was united in marriage to Lydia Jane Mott and lived in Forsyth, Montana. Jody and Lydia also lived in Hettinger, North Dakota, Billings, Montana area, Livingston, Montana, Lolo, Montana, and Billings, Montana area again between the years of 1983 to 1990. They moved to Huron, South Dakota in 1990, and had lived in the same home since 1991.

Jody loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and family member. His best memories were made with time spent with loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his mother- and father-in-law; and his sister, Patti.

Jody is survived by his wife, Lydia; and his sons, Robert Mott and his children, Jake and Emma, all of Huron, Jason (Jacqueline) McCloud and their children, Connor and Haiden, all of Clay, New York, Nick McCloud and his fiancé, Maggie Natell of Poughkeepsie, New York, and Tim (Kayla) McCloud and their children, Evelyn and Vivian, all of Huron.

His is also survived by his brothers, Gary (Cookie) McCloud and family of Los Angeles, California, Mac (Sandy) McCloud and family of Peach Tree, Georgia, Mitch (Tracey) McCloud and family of Bozeman, Montana and Mike McCloud of Mountain View, Hawaii; and his brother-in-law, Danny Dick of Lisbon, North Dakota.
