Obituary

Jacqueline Gloria Haug went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2020.

Her funeral service was held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 30th at the Living Hope Alliance Church. Burial was in the Ideal Cemetery.

She was born in Aurora, South Dakota, on February 15, 1933, to Lester and Mary (Trudie) Moulton, she was the third of four children and the oldest daughter. Her family farmed in the Aurora and then Elkton areas.

Jackie attended country schools and then graduated from Elkton High School. Jackie continued her education at Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Christian Education, she later received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Huron College. After college she worked as an elementary teacher in Herreid, Willow Lake and Bancroft, South Dakota. Later she worked for the state of South Dakota administering the social service programs in Kingsbury County.

While teaching in Willow Lake she met and married Harland Haug. They lived and farmed in the Willow Lake area till 2000 when they retired to Huron. They had two sons, Theodore "Ted" Haug and Anthony "Tony" Haug. Jackie spent her time gardening and collecting. She was very interested in genealogy and researched her family on both sides writing the information up for her children and grandchildren. She loved writing, she self-published a book of poetry and won a Golden Poet award. She also wrote an autobiography for her grandchildren.

Her faith in Christ and her love for family was the driving force in her life.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mary (Trudie) Moulton; her brothers, Larry (Alice) Moulton and Thomas (Juanita) Moulton; and her sister, Delillah (Tom) Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband, Harland Haug; her sons, Theodore "Ted" his wife Kaye (Karlsrud) Haug and Anthony "Tony" and Marcia (Rankin) Haug of Japan; and her grandchildren, Tasha Haug of Springfield, Virginia, Tiffany (Alex) Pecoraro of San Diego California and Titus Haug of San Diego, California.
