Irene Harmon was born February 28, 1946, to Jake and Lois Harmon, in Bonilla, South Dakota. She grew up in the Fort Pierre area, and eventually moved to Wolsey when she met her husband, Bruce Eichstadt. To this union, they had one daughter, Becky.
She proudly worked at Coborn's Grocery Store for 33 years, only retiring when her health began to wane. Irene was a woman of deep faith, and a dedicated member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She also loved her family, and the time she spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Lois Harmon; her brothers, Bill, Jim, Larry, Dave and Thomas Harmon; her sister, Jenny; an infant daughter; and her parents-in-law, Robert and Mildred Eichstadt.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Bruce Eichstadt of Wolsey; her daughter, Becky (Steve) DeBoer of Huron; her siblings, Joe (Edith) Harmon of Spearfish, John (Faun) Harmon of Piedmont, Dee (Ed) Fleming of Bridgeport, Nebraska and Mina (Ron) Caldwell of Fort Pierre.
Irene is also survived by her in-laws, Dee Chapman of Sioux Falls, Dennis Eichstadt of Sioux Falls, Bruce (Mary) Boetel of Brookings, Tim (Diane) Eichstadt of Norfolk, Nebraska and Merle (Pam) Eichstadt of Huron; in laws, Mary Harmon of Pierre, and Kaye Harmon of El Reno, Oklahoma; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and close friends.
